Subsequently used for agriculture, its baroque buildings gradually fell into disrepair before they were renovated and restored in 1970. Today, the monastery complex is a well-known excursion destination on the Middle Moselle, with a monastery brewery and brewery, wine cellar and a museum.
In 2000, the Trierer Bürgerverein 1864 GmbH and the Günther Reh Foundation acquired the property and had the preserved buildings renovated until 2004. They then opened the former monastery to the public. The buildings are now home to several catering facilities, a monastery brewery with an attached brewery, a wine cellar and a distillery. In addition, a building serves as a museum, in which on the one hand historical doll and tin toys from the period 1850 to 1925 ar[12]e exhibited, and on the other hand around 200 icons from Russia, Romania and Ethiopia are shown[13]. There are also changing special exhibitions.
